One of the fun things about living in Hawaii has been learning about new veggies, fruit, and food in general. Once in awhile someone in the office will bring in the harvest from their trees and plants at home. Last week I brought home an avocado. After a bit of research I think I've determined it's a Fuerte. Who knew there were other avocados besides the Haas? You would be hard pressed to find one of these green giants anywhere in IN. Unfortunately we cut it open a bit to early.
Check out the size of the seed!

wow, it is big! You know, some people claim an avocado a day, rather than an apple, is most beneficial to your health!
It is fall here, crisper days and pretty leaves, and night darkness comes quickly with our fall back in time. 'Paradise' may seem boring without such change, but I am guessing you are also discovering the more subtle rhythms of life there.
It is fun to read your blog and see what you are doing; enjoy your remaining time there!
love, auntS
Aunt s I love to hear that you are reading my updates. Yes, paradise doesn't have too many seasonal changes but I think I am sort of getting use to "summer in november" and it's not so bad!
