the MoMA and Guggenheim

I'll be honest- I'm not a huge fan of museums. I do get a kick out of going to exhibits where I do recognize famous stuff though. Who doesn't want to see the famous paintings they studied in middle and high school art?

Danielle and I took advantage of the "free Friday nights" offered at the Museum of Modern Art and decided to check out a few pieces of work at the museum we were especially interested in.

One of my all time favorites- Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh

The museum had a nice collection of Andy Warhol including a big portion of the Campbell Soup Cans.

I also visited the Guggenheim with AHOP and Danielle. The Guggenheim has a very abstract, modern feeling. The exhibits at the museum are constantly changing. The question surrounding our visit was, "what is progress?"

Funny you should mention art and school and then post starry night. There is a whole display of fifth grade budding artists versions of "Starry Night" in the hallway at school! It is a beautiful work of art! Theirs aren't too bad either! Don't forget to take in the musical arts too! They are also good for the soul! Love, AuntK

I'm sooooooooo jealous! We're studying 1964-1984 with my academic team and Warhol is a huge part of the fine arts portion. "Starry Night" is gorgeous also. Enjoy the art!

How's work?
